solitaire...you playin now

sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, everything that's wonderful that's how i feel when we're together...

that's what i hum to myself when i see people in my office playing solitaire while i'm slammed with work. ok, does anyone else find it inherently wrong that there are certain people (who will go nameless) are playing games everytime you pass by their cube. and why are they all middle-aged? i mean is this going to be me in a few years when i become middle aged (tucker this is where you keep your age comments to yourself hahaha)?

one woman was canned a few weeks ago for her work ethic or lack thereof. she was quite a pleasant woman...see for yourselves:

Lisa holding a cup of luke warm coffee heading for the microwave
Nameless woman: *flagging hand* "no. no. i grabbed my bag before you walked in. i'm gon be a while."
Lisa: "oh, i was just trying to heat up my coffee. is that cool?"
Namess woman: "no, cuz like i said, i'm gon be a while."

Nameless woman then proceeds to heat up her 10 pounds of food which takes about 20 minutes which during that time, my coffee has turned cold. 3 days later...Nameless woman no mo. turns out she was playing too much solitaire in between her many food breaks during her workday.

  • She'll probably get hired here and then 3 years later she'll be slowly choked into quitting here only because we don't have the balls to fire people.

  • i concur...i often walk by a particular desk and see someone playing solitaire all of the time..oh wait, that's my desk, and i'm downloading anime or music....hmmm

but really it is pretty annoying, but you gotta look at those folks, smile and hope one day they get fired and their stupid kids starve

  • holy. i heard stories about one chick who used to work here who would go up on the roof to sunbathe... she also asked the ceo to install a shower in the bathroom.
or better yet, the employee who telecommuted 4 days a week and called in sick the 5th day...5 weeks in a row.
